Abstract
Since the correct registration of the arterial pressure is important for establishment of timely diagnosis and treatment, it is necessary to verify the existence of differences in the registration of the arterial pressure between intraobserver and interobserver.
Arterial pressure was measured in 25 hospitalized children, with ages between 6 and 16 years, laying in dorsal decubital position. This was done 3 times daily to each child, following strict nonned techniques. The results disclosed a statistically significant difference in both intraobserved and interobserver. Some of the differences were large enough to lead to erroneous treatment of the patient.
It seems necessary to compare various registrations by different people before establishing a diagnosis and treatment.
