Evaluation of the quality of nursing care in hospitalization

In the areas of hospitalization of the Hospital General Regional with Medicina Familiar N° 36, Puebla, of the IMSS, nursing care was assessed through the application of a questionnaire and a comparison guide, the first was applied to 90 hospitalized patients and the second to 60 nurses that include the four shifts and different categories. From the processing and analysis of the information obtained with the application of the two instruments, it can be deduced that the patients express satisfaction with the care provided by the nursing staff. The results of the applied guide make manifest: the insufficiency in the technical skills and lack of knowledge in some activities as well as the partial dehumanization of the attitudes of the nurse, situation related among other factors to the insufficient resources that condition the work overload.
