Abstract

Given the characteristics of the haematological patient, mainly immunopression, this often causes agranulocytosis and thrombocytopenia. Therefore, the patient is in a feverish, infectious and severe hemorrhagic state, requiring the transfusion of platelets or leukocytes through the intermittent flow separator of a single donor.

Some years ago, some immunological diseases were considered as intractable due to their resistance to high doses of steroids such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Myasthenia Gravis, Guillain Barre Syndrome and some others. The plasma change gave excellent results in such procedures, since the objective of the change is removing immune complexes.

In reductive cytophodrosis  important amounts of cells are extracted, reducing the neoplasic mass and the patient's symptoms.
