About the cover

The photographs that make it up historically symbolize the training of nurses; in the upper left corner there is a reference to –Nurses and Doctors group portrait– from the public health collection of L. Hernández (1930-1940), in the National Photo Library of the National Institute of Anthropology and History. Available at: https://repositorio.inah.gob.mx/fcrepo/rest/c1/c2/e3/d3/c1c2e3d3-7ae8-48ff-9f3a-e86530dd3fb2

In the upper right corner, nursing staff are depicted in San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz, during the Nursing Training Course in 1940. Below, a practical class on blood pressure measurement (1958) is shown, with the instructor and students taking notes and observing the technique in the Training Course for Newly Hired Personnel at the Maternal and Child Hospital of San Luis Potosí. Both photographs are from the collection of the Miguel Bustamante Foundation Library of Oaxaca, classification 614.2 (02). SSA Report 1958-1964. Photograph by Miguel Bustamante.
