Abstract

The fact of being left alone in the radiology service with a gigantic radiation equipment can frighten the patient unless the nurse calms it and explains it before starting the therapy or study. The nurse must perform a correct physical preparation of the patient, as it is in cases of oral cholecystography, monitoring the fast, oral administration of the contrast medium, the correct performance of the evacuating enemas and any other specific indication that favors the realization of the radiographic study.

The nurse will observe that the patient's position is correct for the requested study. The dresses or clothes of the patient should not produce interference with the radiographic image, as well as objects such as jewelery, hairpins and dental prostheses, should be removed when performing a radiographic examination.
