The social, economic and political transformation of the country requires that processes of change be applied at all health care levels in the health sector. Efficiency and efficiency criteria have been integrated to achieve maximum productivity of services, without deteriorating quality. The changes made in the practice of medicine are accompanied and complemented with a new way to provide care to the sick and to respond to the changing needs of the individual, community and society.
One of the situations that health institutions must accept - public or private - in this framework arising from social transformation is competition. The environment in which the institutions operate presents a high level of uncertainty, which is why it is necessary to carry out a careful analysis to develop and establish a practice for the care of the patient that offers health products and services, of quality.
