Florence Nightingale and the transcendence of her written communication

Introductory Journal ArticleAbstract
Florence Nightingale is recognized as a character of great historical importance, commonly appreciated for giving up her life of family and social well-being, in exchange for a philanthropic adventure to care for the wounded of the well-known Crimean War.
By imagining a kind woman who offered all her attention and the best environment for the wounded to heal, her valuable written work and one of her main legacies has been left aside: the transformation of improvised care to the sick - for a long time only encouraged by humanitarian inclinations- to become a professional practice, product of a vocation that entails a planned preparation in schools and universities, in which knowledge is systematically applied.
