Emotional intelligence: a fundamental tool for the health worker

To speak of emotional intelligence is to bring to the present a concept that has emerged for several decades. Its origin dates back to the year 1920, when the psychologist Edward Thorndike defined social intelligence as the ability to understand and direct men and act wisely in human relationships.
