Fullfilment of Quality Indicators of Patient's Appoach by Nursing Personnel

Abstract

Background: Dignified treatment it’s the right for users to be treated as human beings rather than patients, and respectfully by the nursing staff.

Objectives: To identify compliance with the quality indicator: dignified treatment provided by nursing staff of chronic degenerative department.

Methodology: Cross-sectional study. Population: Patients diagnosed with chronic degenerative disease of Department of IMSS. Sample: Not probability, for convenience; will select patients who come to the department of chronic degenerative until complete sample. Statistical Analysis: With data, generate a database captured in the statistical program SPSS15, descriptive results, distribution of frequencies and percentages. Instrument: validated instrument, consisted of head, socio-demographic data, body with 7 closed questions, explored the dignified treatment provided by nursing.

Results: 56.1 % of respondents refer to "the dignified treatment is excellent." The average age is 61 years with an SD ± 12.65. The level of schooling is 62.3% with primary school, 98.25% reported that the nurse greets in a friendly manner. 73.7% appear before them. They are directed by name 73.7% and 94.7% explain the procedures or activities to be carried out. 93.0% offer conditions that preserve their privacy or modesty. The nurse treats the patient with 98.25% respect, and 99.1% feels satisfied with the treatment.

Conclusion: The dignified treatment that the nurse provides is excellent in the service to patients with chronic degenerative disease.
