Public health nursing model for the interdisciplinary approach in care practices

Abstract

Public health is an interdisciplinary field that integrates references from various social sciences. Nursing, whose essence is care, is one of the disciplines called to specify its contribution to the health of societies from the perspective of public health. This implies both the theoretical-practical conception and the realization, from an interdisciplinary perspective; of care practices that contribute to these organized efforts (consider care as a category that transcends individuality to position itself in the social sphere). The integration of the public health approach to nursing practices contributes to the interdisciplinary exercise, an important theoretical budget that allows the dialogue of knowledge in the conception and explanation of a phenomenon (in this case care) and the consolidation of the profession.
