Abstract

It is explained in a simple way that the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome consists, what is its casual agent, what is its epidemiology, what is the high-risk population, when there is no contagion, what are the transmission routes, what is the risk of Labor transmission, which workers should not be exposed to the care of "sidosos" patients and what are the basic preventive measures. Finally, it lists 21 precautions in the care of patients with this condition.

The intention of this article is directed to the nursing staff treating the "sidoso" as the suffering human being and asking for physical and emotional support, like any other patient, without interjecting feelings that act against the Hospital Deontology.
