As the nephropathic population increased, the D.P.C.A. program has had to be boosted, both medical and paramedical personnel are prepared and updated for the treatment and management of the patient.
In 1980, management began with 14 patients monthly. In 1983, 27 patients per month. In 1985, 25 patients per month. In 1987, 26 patients per month. In 1988, 26 patients per month. In 1989, 56 patients per month.
The historical evolution in relation to the discovery of better designs of material for dialysis, has allowed the patient to be included in any of the 4 Programs that exist in the Nephrology Service for the care of patients with chronic renal failure, these are : DPI, for patients candidates for transplantation, CAPD, hemodialysis and kidney transplant.
