Nursing professional in the face of family claudication

In the hospital, nursing staff daily encounters patients with a high level of dependency from their family caregiver, the so-called "invisible patient" who modifies his daily life to respond to the needs that the patient requires. However, family caregivers, without training and orientation is more likely to present family claudication, therefore, the nurse is essential for the prevention of it. Direct contact with the patient allows timely interventions that minimize the impact of patient care on the health of caregivers.
