In the last decades, changer have happened in science and technology with impact in the production of goods and services. This has lead to a process of permanent change in the institutions towards a continuous improvement in a result of quality process. Quality in education in our country has greatly evolved because of the interest at different levels of the government. System of continuous improvement has been applied through strategies focussed into quality and other alternatives such as engineering, which are proposed as useful tools in those organizations wanting to make changes to face environmental challenger. Engineering implies the radical redraw of a process to get impressive results in the organization. Nursing schools are a step ahead in the search of excellence, through use of the best processes to be competitive, and produce graduates able to solve all the health problems in their competence with a quality service. In this article are described the necessary steps in the use of the engineering process in education and some thoughts on nursing teaching and practice.
