Humanization of intensive care from the perspective of vulnerable care

As a human value, it can be considered a privilege that nursing professionals are present in situations of fragility to offer physical and spiritual comfort to the person and the family. Care is relational, always depending on the other; In nursing, the other is the person, their family and the communities. From this perspective, the principle of vulnerability is directly related to caring and the notion of ethical responsibility. States of serious illness such as an acute myocardial infarction or a cerebral vascular event alter the dimensions of the human being and place them in a state of vulnerability to the condition of being hospitalized in an intensive care unit. In reference to interprofessional work, the Humanization of Intensive Care (HU-CI) project is proposed, with the aim of evaluating and recovering the relationship between health professionals and the sick person and their family who are in a moment of life complex.
