Logistics to implement the SARS-CoV-2 vaccination strategy in Lerma, State of Mexico

Abstract

The design and planning for the vaccination strategy against SARS-CoV-2 was carried out in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This article describes the logistics to implement the vaccination strategy in the municipality of Lerma de Villada located in the central western area of ​​the State of Mexico, Mexico. In that municipality, 6 different types of vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 were applied. For the vaccination day, vaccination modules made up of cells were required as essential minimum units for the application of the vaccine. Vaccination began with health personnel and the elderly population by age groups until concluding with boys and girls of 5 years.

The vaccination strategy was a great collaborative effort and teamwork among professionals and health personnel (doctors, nurses, nurse’s community, and social and administrative service interns), with staff from the Honorable City Hall, Civil Servants of the Nation and other institutional bodies.
