National panorama of nursing research

Abstract

The investigation in nursing in México is a process that requires many efforts. Some studies have expressed than 50 % of the schools do not have defined investigation lines. Furthermore the majority does not count with researchers neither with the necessary infrastructure and the product of the investigations it is not spread. Other studies made in Mexico and Latin America threw results very similar and make to suppose that the problems that face the investigation in nursing are related to: the integration to the institutions and the spread of the scientific production. One of the possible causes was the professional training of the nurses, that for many years it was technocratic, which did not permit the ability development of the thought, creativity, and the critical sense. The perspective of the investigation is the decision and the desire by consolidating to the nursing as a profession. Currently, they have begun with the creation of investigation units, forum development, colloquies. It should be to work more to define lines of investigation toward the solution of health problems, the identification of high-priority areas and to built on theoretical bases, supported by practice.
