Correlation between patient's needs of health and nurse care with the Ramey's methodology

Introduction: there are strategies for analysis and evaluation the needs of patients with physical limitation, alteration in emotional behavior and need of education to health in order to know how much time of direct and indirect attention have to spent the nurse.
Objective: it was to correlating the needs of direct and indirect care by the patient and the time that nurse spends on his or her care.
Methodology: it was done a descriptive study in order to measure frequency and time spent with every one of the procedures and activities relate with direct or indirect care. The analysis was made with software SPSS.
Results: there were 16 patients with a measure of 2.01 hours for 17 procedures in nurse direct care. About indirect care the time spent was from 2.40 to 4.28 hours. At the intensive care the less and the longer time spent were 3.0 and 12.37 hours respectively.
Discussion: the Ramey's methodology was useful to development a measure procedure. All eleven steps for the observation was applicated for analysis.
